Coping with a few cloudbursts, but mostly sunshine (ah, well, more accurately time without rain!) a dozen or so casters met for the annual Turkey Shoot handicap at the GGACC.

Focused, Simon starts his round.

Participants from the home club of Golden Gate as well as visiting clubs Oakland and San Jose met on Sunday, November 16 at the annual Turkey Shoot Handicap. The event is always fun because the handicap format, in addition to "leveling the playing field", can sometimes yield wonderful, unexpected results.

The first event of the day, Trout Fly, was a case in point: Glen Ozawa in typical exceptional form shot a 99 (handicap adjusted to 102), but was bested for the day's prize by Mike Gong who scored a 103. Given Mike's progress throughout the past year, you can bet he won't be showing up to next year's Turkey Shoot with a 9 handicap!

Bass Bug too, brought with it some surprises. No surprise that Glen's round was exceptional, but not enough to overcome Nam Le whose adjusted score was 104. The scandal here is that Nam's handicap was 15...must have been a typo - the only possible explanation.

Finally, the 1/4oz plug game. In clearing skies, Mariano Domingo dominated the field with a handicapped score of 102. No surprise here as Mariano was a leader with his raw score of 87.

Congratulations to all of this year's winners!
