Casting Lessons
Lessons We Offer
Free Public Fly Casting Lessons
Typically, we offer public casting lessons on the third Saturday of March, April, May, June, and September. We limit the lessons to 24 students to maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio. All skill levels are welcome, and if you don’t have your own equipment, don’t worry! We have rod/reel/line outfits that participants can borrow for free. Participants need only bring proper sunscreen, hydration, eye protection and the willingness to learn something new. Lessons start promptly at 10:00 AM (please don't be late) and last about 2 hours.

Members-Only Classes
In the past, we have offered various classes for our members on the first Friday or Saturday of March, April, May, June, and September. Check our events page for specific dates, times and topics. Historically, classes ranged from rigging dry flies for an upcoming trip, novel nymph setups, tackle checks (which included choosing the right line for your rod and balancing your reel with your rod), and of course, personally tuning your casting.

Our Teachers
All of our instructors are leading tournament casters, recent winners of medals and honors at local, national and even international events. In the past, Chris Korich has led many of our casting lessons. Chris is an inductee of the American Casting Association’s Hall of Fame. He has held numerous National and World Champion Casting titles, but more importantly, he - like all of our instructors - has a passion for teaching.
